COVID-19 Update: May 31, 2020

Leewood Healthcare Center is actively working towards a recovery phase from the impact of COVID-19, which begins with re-testing all residents; as well as our staff. Per the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), two (2) negative test results, obtained at least 24 hours apart, must be acquired before discontinuing transmission-based precautions and isolation.

As close family members were informed, all residents and staff will receive a nasopharyngeal swab for COVID-19 testing on Monday, June 1st, and again on Wednesday, June 3rd. The testing will be conducted in partnership with a local lab, the Fairfax County Department of Health and National Guard. Once we have received both results, we will contact families directly to inform of the outcome and next steps. In the meantime, we are actively preparing the logistics of anticipated resident room moves.

We know you will be eager to learn of the results for your loved ones and may have questions. Our team is here to ensure the best possible quality of life for those we serve while keeping you informed. We also know how important it is to remain connected with each other and to express love. Feel free to contact us, by phone or email, to schedule video chats, window visits, or phone calls between loved ones.
